Aero Safety Training is a flight school based at picturesque Lincoln Park Airport in Lincoln Park, NJ.
We began training pilots in 1993. Our mission has expanded to serve aviation enthusiasts in the New Jersey & New York area in various ways.
Training at Lincoln Park Airport
Lincoln Park Airport (N07) is a privately owned, public use airport located 2 mi north of the central business district of Lincoln Park. The airport covers an area of 168 acres at an elevation of 182 feet above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 1/19 with an asphalt surface measuring 2,767 by 40 feet.
Lincoln Park Airport, a non-towered airport, is positioned under the Newark Class B airspace and is adjacent to Essex County Airport’s Class D airspace. Students can enjoy quick ground operations and still have the ability to train at towered fields nearby.
The airport is also home to Sunset Pub and Grill, a festive tavern offering American eats, a full bar, live outdoor music, and views of the runway.
Sport Pilot Certificate
Aero Safety Training is one of the only flight schools in northern New Jersey which offers sport pilot certification.
“The sport pilot certificate provides one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to fly for fun and recreation. You can think of it as a sort of middle ground between becoming an ultralight pilot and a full-fledged private pilot. Sport pilots can carry a passenger and operate in certain types of controlled airspace, for example, but they may not fly at night and are limited to lighter and lowered-powered aircraft than those available to private pilots. On the other hand, the sport pilot certificate is more affordable because fewer hours of instruction are required.”

Students can go from no license all the way to Certified Flight Instructor in our new Pipistrel Alpha Trainers – an excellent way to save costs while flying with the latest and greatest equipment.

Individualized learning
Aero Safety Training offers Part 61-style flight education.
Part 61 and Part 141 are two distinct flight training options for individuals seeking to become pilots, with Part 61 focused on recreational pilots and Part 141 emphasizing structured education for professional pilots. That is not to say that a school operating under Part 61 cannot train professional pilots – in fact, the more casual environment is arguably a better way of forming connections.
The choice between Part 61 and Part 141 training programs hinges on your preferred learning style and flexibility. Part 61, considered the traditional approach, offers maximum flexibility. You engage with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), who prepares you based on Private Pilot Practical Test Standards (PTS), allowing for a personalized learning experience.
PSI testing center
PSI testing refers to examinations conducted by PSI Services LLC, a leading provider of professional testing services. PSI test centers are facilities where individuals can take a variety of exams, including those related to aviation.
Aero Safety Training hosts a PSI test center, meaning the school is authorized to administer specific aviation-related exams, such as those for pilot or aircraft mechanic certifications. Students at the flight school enjoy the benefit of not having to leave home base to take their FAA knowledge tests.
