A Safe Pilot Is Always Learning
Training tips for students and pilots
Flying is one of the most incredible things one can do in life (in this pilot’s biased opinion!). One of the most rewarding aspects of flying is the ability to share it with others.
Take the opportunity this month to introduce at least one person to aviation. If you’re a pilot, take them up flying on a nice, reasonably calm day — even a short flight will do. Make sure to get photos and video — they will surely treasure these and share with family and friends!
If you’re not yet a pilot, share your favorite aviation stories with them, teach them a few things about airplanes or airports, show them an airplane or take them on a simulator flight.
“Back in the day,” when I first started flying, I would have loved it if someone shared even a few bits of wisdom about flying. Had someone done this, I would have started flying a full decade sooner. While aviation offers one of the warmest, friendliest and most welcoming communities out there, it can seem intimidating at first glance. Welcome our future aviators to our community with open arms. You may be the person who inspires them and ignites their aviation passion. You may even spare them a desk job in exchange for a wonderful career in aviation!
Share the science, beauty, freedom and adventure of flying!
Be safe, have fun & keep learning!
