Spring is finally here and we’re excited to launch our new website. It has been quite a year for us with the move to our new facility and acquisition of our Redbird Simulator. We recently revamped our club membership and created some new programs which we hope will interest you. You can get started on your instrument rating, transition to the G-1000 Skyhawk, or maintain instrument proficiency by taking advantage of the Redbird FMX full-motion simulator.
Our new blog will help us stay in touch with you and you’ll find us on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. You can also get updates by subscribing to the RSS feed. Our new calendar will also keep you informed of upcoming events.
Do you know of anyone who is interested in learning to fly and isn’t sure how to get started? Saturday, May 15 is International Learn to Fly Day. The event is free but reservations are required. A Student Pilot Forum will take place as part of the program. You’ll also have an opportunity to meet an air traffic controller, a FAA designated examiner, a FAA medical examiner, an insurance expert, an instructor and a recently rated pilot.
Good luck Nancy and Phyllis! Our own Nancy Christian will be flying with Phyllis Kollar in Phyllis’s Cessna Skyhawk in the Air Race Classic, a 2200-mile all-women air race in June. Wish them well!
We kicked off our summer youth camp last August and this year we are delighted to offer it again. Camp will be held August 16-20. Hats off to Nancy for creating this popular program for aspiring young aviators. In addition, Aviation Explorer Post #7 launched this past Fall. Please contact Nancy if you have questions about the Aviation Explorer Post Program or Aviation Adventurer Camp.
